SECTIONS of the M8 and M898 will face closures for essential resurfacing.
The work, carried out by Amey for Transport Scotland, is set to take place over three phases from October 24 to October 28.
During phase one, from 8pm on Thursday, October 24 until 6am on Friday, October 25, the M8 westbound from Junction 30 to the Ferry Road overbridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
The M898 southbound to the M8 westbound on-slip will be closed, with traffic diverted via the M8 eastbound and directed to exit at Junction 29.
From here, drivers will follow the A737 south to Linwood and the A761 through Kilmacolm to join the A8 at Newark roundabout in Port Glasgow.
Phase two will see a full closure of the westbound M8 between Junctions 29 and 31 from 8pm on Friday, October 25 until 6am on Saturday, October 26, and again from 8pm on Sunday, October 27 until 6am on Monday, October 28.
Preparatory work will begin at 8pm, with the road closed from 10pm.
There will be overnight closures of several slip roads, including the Junction 29 westbound on-slip and Junction 29A westbound off-slip.
Lane closures will also be in place on the M898 southbound to the M8 westbound on-slip and the M8 from Junction 30 to the Ferry Road overbridge.
Phase three involves a contraflow on the M8 westbound at Junction 30, with the road reduced to one lane in each direction from 6am on Saturday, October 26 until 10pm on Sunday, October 27.
The M898 to M8 westbound on-slip road at Junction 30 will be closed, with traffic directed to join the eastbound M8 and turn at Junction 29 to join the westbound M8 and travel through the contraflow.
Amey has assured that access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
The company has also warned that all schemes are weather-dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are unfavourable.
