REPAIRS have been completed after a burst water pipe interrupted supplies to homes and businesses in Gourock for several hours last night.
Scottish Water staff attended the site at Shore Street at around 5.30pm.
Technicians were working near Eastern View, close to an area currently subject to Scottish Gas roadworks.
The utility company initially said it was hoped repairs could be completed by 10pm, but the announcement that the burst had been fixed was not made on social media until 1.17am.
Repairs on the burst water main in #GOUROCK #PA19 are now complete. Following repairs, you may experience some discoloured water. We would advise you to run your cold water tap in your kitchen at half pressure until your water runs clear again

A company spokesperson said: "Following repairs, you may experience some discoloured water.
"We would advise you to run your cold water tap in your kitchen at half pressure until your water runs clear again."
McGill’s 545 and 901 services were affected by the works during the course of the evening, with passengers being asked to board at Cardwell Road.
