INVERCLYDE schools will continue to give pupils the chance to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Over the past five years participation and achievement of the challenging programme has increased and Inverclyde is one of the top performing in the country.
Inverclyde Council has had its licence renewed which will allow youngsters to take part in the scheme which offers outdoor adventures, as well as volunteering and life skills training.
With in the most deprived areas Inverclyde comes third for participation.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award operating license is reviewed annually and Inverclyde's licence is renewed.
The education and communities committee is asked to approve this on behalf of the council.
