GREENOCK Coastguard Rescue Team have issued advice for locals to follow if they should ever become trapped in mud while out and about.
The local team took part in a patrol of the area on Saturday and reviewed their options for accessing Coves Reservoir in the event that they are called in to assist with a mud rescue or any other incident.
In a statement online, the team issued the following advice: "As always our advice is to stay away from mud as it is incredibly easy to get stuck and can be quite difficult to get out of once you are.
"If you do find yourself in trouble in the mud try not to panic, lean back, spread your weight like a starfish and call for help.
"In coastal mud call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Inland ask for the fire service."
The team also checked on different coastal locations such as Wemyss Bay beach and the areas around the Battery Park.
They also stopped by the Gourock Farmers Market and said hello to Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) mascot Stormy Stan.
