A REQUEST to renew planning permission for a proposal to build a detached house and garage in Wemyss Bay will be heard by councillors next month.
Plans to build the new structures at the Wemyss Bay Road site were approved on November 3, 2021, subject to the condition that work started on the development within three years of permission being granted.
This time has now elapsed without work beginning and so agent Rebecchi Architectural have submitted an application on behalf of the applicant David Todd to have the permission renewed.
A two-storey detached house with a double garage already exists at the site, which the proposed house would be built to the south east of.
The fresh plans have attracted thirteen objections, which raise concerns about impacts on the streetscape, impacts on nearby listed buildings, noise, privacy, reduced light, impacts on views and conflicts with title deeds.
The application will be discussed at Inverclyde Council’s next planning board meeting on November 6.
Council officers are recommending that councillors vote to approve the application subject to conditions.
