A GREENOCK has admitted breaching a police station ‘sign on’ bail condition earlier this week, claiming he ‘forgot’ about the changing of the clocks over the weekend.
Patrick Duffy, 46, was granted bail at Greenock Sheriff Court in December 2022, and has since been subject to a requirement to attend the town’s police station between specified hours twice a week.
He failed to do so on Monday - the day after the clocks went back by an hour - and was thereafter arrested.
Duffy, of John Street, appeared in court from custody the following day, where he pleaded guilty to the single charge.
Defence solicitor Aidan Gallagher said: “He is supposed to be signing on between 11am and 3pm.
“The summary refers to him forgetting about the change of the clocks on Sunday.”
Sheriff Sean Lynch deferred Duffy’s sentencing until December 4.
