A GREENOCK man is set to stand trial before a jury charged with holding a knife to a woman's throat during an alleged robbery in the town.
David Cleisham, 36, is charged with forcing entry to a property on Cathcart Street on May 3.
It is alleged that he presented a knife to a woman inside, before robbing her of a quantity of medication.
Cleisham is said to have repeatedly demanded that the woman provide the medication, as well as kicking a door at the flat and refusing to leave when he was asked to do so.
Prosecutors claim that he made violent threats towards the complainer and that he then followed her after she left the property.
Cleisham, of Brachelston Street, faces a further charge of being in possession of a blade on several streets in Greenock, as well as struggling violently with two police officers on Sir Michael Street in the town and attempting to prevent the application of handcuffs.
His defence solicitor, Amy Spencer, told a pre-trial hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court that her client was maintaining his plea of not guilty.
He is due to return to court for trial on December 16.
