A MAN is to stand trial after he denied damaging a car with a baseball bat in Greenock before allegedly assaulting two police officers at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Anthony James McVey, 39, is charged with repeatedly striking a vehicle on the town's Stafford Road on September 30.
He is accused of using the metal bat to wilfully or recklessly damage the property of another.
The Crown claims he also placed a man in a state of fear or alarm by behaving in a threatening or abusive manner during the same alleged incident.
McVey is also charged with kicking two police constables on the body on the same date, as well as struggling violently with them.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges through defence solicitor Mark Chambers.
McVey, of Shore Street in Gourock, is due to stand trial on March 3 next year.
