NEARLY 50 running fanatics joined together to ensure that the 159th Battery Park Junior Park run was a success the honours were taken in little under under seven minutes.
Completing the course with a new personal best, two seconds shy of seven minutes, was first placed runner, Louis.
Hot on his heels in second place was Elijah, little over a minute later. Completing the top three boys was Rudy, who was fresh from his 5k parkrun at Greenock earlier on in the weekend, 18 seconds further behind.
In encouraging news, first time runner, Lauryn, was the first girl to cross the line in just over eight and a half minutes.
She was followed by Faye, who crossed the line fifteen seconds behind. And whilst earning a new personal best of just over nine minutes, Cadhlea crossed the line to complete the top three girls.
A park run spokesperson said: "We are very grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen: Aidan Canning, Gillian Clark, Lesley Dick, Lynne Fulton, James Gavin, Rhona Hair, Anne Hay, Tracey Howe, Heather Lafferty, Marjorie Morrison, Rachel Neil, William Taylor, Niamh Ward and Sarah Ward.

Thirty-three enthusiastic junior park runners and 14 volunteers took part in the latest edition of the park run.
The event also welcomed three new runners to their ranks as the trio of Lauryn, Ruby and Matthew all started their junior parkrun their journey park run journeys.
Seasoned competitor Rowan reached a milestone of her own, taking part in her 21st parkrun, meaning that she will receive her marathon wristband next time she runs.
