A PORT Glasgow man is to stand trial before a jury after he denied breaking into a flat while in possession of a knife and severely injuring a person inside.
Ross Knox, 26, is charged with forcing entry to a property on Highholm Street on June 10 last year.
He is alleged to produced a knife or similar implement before seizing hold of the complainer and dragging him.
Knox is accused of kicking the man on the body and pursuing him, all to his severe injury permanent disfigurement.
The Crown alleges he was acting with another at the time, whose identity is currently unknown to prosecutors.
He also faces a further charge of being in possession of a blade in a public place on Brown Street and Highholm Street.
Knox, of Northfield Avenue, pleaded not guilty to two indictment charges through defence solicitor Amy Spencer at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Sheriff Anthony McGeehan fixed a trial for December 3.
