Greenock Southwest Community Council will help to spread the joy this Christmas thanks to a council grant.
Inverclyde Council's community grants fund sub-committee agreed to give the group £1,500.
The community council will spend the cash on money towards a Christmas lunch for elderly people in the area.
The community council works hand in hand with the Southwest Community Hub in Grieve Road.
The hub runs free lunches every Thursday through the council's Warm Hand of Friendship scheme and the National Lottery.
It also celebrated its first birthday with a bash in the hall, which was was also given funding from the community council.
