CLYDE Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium has donated more than £11,500 to important local causes.

The crematorium, which is based on the A760 between Largs and Kilbirnie, handed over £5,800 to Ardgowan Hospice and £5,800 to St Vincent’s Hospice through its membership of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management’s recycling of metals scheme.

Crematorium manager, Jennifer Hamilton, said: "It is wonderful to be able to share the incredible sum of £11,600 between Ardgowan and St Vincent’s Hospices to help them to continue to provide essential services to local families.

"The cost of providing these vital services continues to escalate and yet hospices rely on charitable donations to make ends meet.

"Our heartfelt thanks go to each and every family who have given us permission to recycle metals following the sensitive cremation of their loved one.
