A TUNEFUL fundraiser in a local supermarket generated more than £400 to help people improve their health and wellbeing through the arts.

Shelagh McKay Jones hosted a day of music at Tesco in Port Glasgow for her social enterprise, Singing Spaces CIC.

Shelagh took to the stage alongside local musicians Tom Kater, Joe McMahon, Acoustic Jukebox (Davy and Arlene Nicol), Clair Tierney, and Hamish Rae.

A total of £414.28 was raised through generous donations from the public, and from the team at Tesco, which will help to fund Shelagh's project, Connect-Create-Regenerate.

Shelagh thanked all of the staff at the store, all of the musicians who performed on the day, and everyone who came along to 'shop and rock'.

She added: "I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of people and the interest they expressed in Singing Spaces CIC and our first big project."
