THE curtain is to rise on a spectacular evening of music in Port Glasgow later this month.
A number of local musicians will take to the stage at the town’s New Parish Church on November 22 at 7pm.
Among those entertaining the audience at the free event will be the award-winning Riverside Youth Band, who will perform under the baton of musical director Mark Good – a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS).
Fellow RCS graduate Mark Robertson will lead Port Glasgow New Parish Church Choir on the night.
Former Port Glasgow High School pupil and guitarist Thomas Williams, who recently commenced studies at RCS, will also feature in the concert, as well as flautist Grace Hart.
A light supper will be served in the large church of the hall following the show.
Looking ahead to the evening, Rev William Boyle said: “In 2023, we staged a special concert as part of Port Glasgow New Parish Church's 200th anniversary celebrations.
"Such was the success of the event, we're delighted to be holding another concert featuring a wonderful array of local musical talent.
"We look forward to welcoming people to join us on Friday, November 22, for what promises to be a very special evening, with something for everyone, in Port Glasgow New Parish Church."
Entry to the concert is free, with a collection being held on the night.
