A BID to change a former Greenock shop to a hot food takeaway business has been given the green light by councillors.
The premises, which are currently empty, lie at the junction of Pennyfern Road and Maple Road.
The application also includes a extract flue at the side of the building.
Councillor Chris Curley, speaking at a meeting of Inverclyde Council's planning board, where the application was considered, said: "I have concerns about the change of use. There is a one-way system here with a convoluted traffic management system.
"It will create more activity during the day and less parking available."
The parking concern was echoed by Councillor Natasha McGuire.
But Steven Walker, the council's service manager for roads, said there were ample spaces that should be able to cope with additional traffic.
There were six objections to the application, but it was rubber stamped by the board.
