An application to build a detached house in Wemyss Way has been given the go-ahead by planners for a second time.

The site comprises garden ground and covers the southern-eastern portion of the property known as Ardvaar in Wemyss Bay Road.

The plans also include a detached garage.

Inverclyde Council's planning board had originally approved an application in 2021 for the erection of a detached house on the east side of the existing property.

Permission was subject to the standard condition that work on the development was required to start within three years.

This has not happened and the applicant sought to renew the application, with the planning board agreeing to approve the bid.

The 2021 application had attracted 13 letters of objection, raising concerns over the potential impact on the streetscape, impacts on nearby listed buildings, noise, privacy, reduced light, impacts on views and conflicts with title deeds.
