MORTON's charity arm has received a £7,500 conditional grant from Inverclyde Council to help cover the costs of hiring pitches.
Morton in the Community received the four-figure sum in the latest round of the local authority's Community Grants Fund.
The local organisation was founded in 2013 and provides a regular schedule of football focused events and other charitable activities to people in the local community.
Morton in the Community currently has almost 30 individual projects, which include walking football sessions, its men's mental health initiative 'Team Talk', and its dementia support group, Morton Memories, which it runs in collaboration with Alzheimer's Scotland.
The group was one of more than 100 organisations located across Inverclyde to apply for a share of cash from the local authority's community grants fund.
More than £250,000 was awarded, though with the applicants seeking a collective total of more than £856,000, almost none of the groups that applied received the full amount.
