TWO collapse-risk silver birches and a diseased ash are among half a dozen trees which are set to be cut back in Greenock.
Inverclyde Council officers have approved plans submitted by applicant John McDonald to bring down an ash tree, an acer tree, a birch tree, two silver birches and a cherry tree at an address on Newark Street.
The acer and the birch tree are said to have outgrown their location, while the two silver birches are stated to have unstable root plates, putting them at risk of collapse.
The cherry tree has been identified as showing signs of deterioration and the ash is showing early signs of ash dieback.
Officials say that the removal of the trees has been recommended by a tree surgeon.
