A KILMACOLM restaurant is in the running for no fewer than five prizes at the 2024 Scottish Italian Awards – but it needs your votes to stand a chance of winning.
Punto in Lochwinnoch Road has been nominated for the best chef, best family friendly restaurant, best pasta chef, best pizza and best restaurant manager accolades.
The Tele reported earlier this year on how entrepreneur Danny McIntyre had taken over the business alongside his wife Christine in March, with the aim of promoting the establishment as a community hub as well as a place to enjoy quality food and drink.

Danny had previously taken on the restaurant alongside David Davidson in 2021, when the pair bought the business from the Pieri family, who had been at the helm for 40 years.
It has featured regularly in the Scottish Italian Awards shortlists over recent years, including a ‘highly recommended’ honour in 2021 in the ‘best team’ category.
The business has also worked closely with pupils and staff at Kilmacolm Primary School on developing their STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) curriculum.
