MORTON has announced a partnership with a Greenock soft play centre in a bid to boost the development of its young supporters’ project.
Xcite Activity Centre has become an official ‘Team Ton’ partner as the club looks to enhance and strengthen its under-12 membership programme.
More than 125 children have signed up to Team Ton since the scheme launched in the summer.
The project is designed to help build a community of young supporters and encourage the next generation of Morton fans to come along to Cappielow with friends and family.
Morton general manager Dale Pryde-MacDonald said: “Firstly I would like to thank David Hewitson and the team at Xcite for sharing the enthusiasm we have for Team Ton and the support we want to give young people in our community.
“Team Ton, as we have documented, far surpassed our expectations on the launch year, and I want to thank each young person that has been involved so far.
“We are excited about what we can achieve with Team Ton moving forward and having the support of Xcite will help us to achieve that.
“It’s fantastic to be working with another local business who bring so much to the table, and there are certainly positive times that lie ahead with this partnership.”
David Hewitson, owner of Xcite in East Breast Street, added: “We are so Xcited to have partnered with and support our local football club Greenock Morton.
“We especially look forward to working alongside the club as new Team Ton partners and we would like to thank all of our customers for continuing to show their support.”
