FERRY passengers in Inverclyde are facing significant disruption this morning due to poor visibility caused by fog.

Western Ferries is currently operating a single vessel service as a result of the conditions.

Sailings will depart Hunter’s Quay on the hour, and McInroy’s Point at half past the hour.

The ferry operator said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will conduct a review when conditions allow.”

CalMac’s Gourock-Dunoon route is suspended due to the heavy fog, as well as its Gourock-Kilcreggan service.

Early sailings from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay were cancelled this morning as MV Argyle has been unable to leave her berth at Gourock.

MV Coruisk is expected to operate as timetabled on this route, but CalMac warned sailings remain liable to disruption or cancellation due to poor visibility.
