INVERCLYDE indie folk band The Laurettes are coming home to say thank you to their fans after one of their biggest years so far.

The all-girl line up, with lead singers Lynette Beaton and Lauren O'Donoghue, have had the most incredible time after launching their first album Meet Me At The Main Stage.

Since then they have been on stage non stop at festivals all over the UK, as well as the New York Tartan Week - and now they are coming to the Gamble Halls on their latest tour with friend Ru Mac.

The Tele caught up with the musicians as they prepare for an emotional homecoming on the back of a year where they were one of the headline acts at Belladrum.

Lynette said: "It is going to be amazing to come back home. We were desperate to play here. This is where it all began for us.

"It has been an incredible year, beyond our wildest dreams. I think the biggest moment yet was Belladrum, playing in front of 5,000 fans with them singing our words back to us. It just doesn't get much better than that.

"We are having the time of our lives, and to be shortlisted for an award as well. We are playing along with some of our best friends, it is just incredible."

Lynette and Lauren are joined by Ari Loughlin on bass and, at various times, by Amanda Ballingall, Linzi Miller and former Altered Images member Lesley McLaren on drums.

Lynette and Lauren formed The Laurettes while students, and emerged as stars during the pandemic when they set up an live music page, giving a platform to acts all over Inverclyde.

They also raised tens of thousands of pounds to help frontline staff and patients at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

Lauren, from Wemyss Bay, said: "We are so excited about coming home. It has been an incredible year going up and down the country.

"It is going to be great to show what we have been doing in the last couple of years.

"It has been amazing but we still can't believe what is happening. We have made so many memories.

"It has taken us a lot of hard work to get here."

The group are now ending the year with their RuLettes tour starring their friend Ru Mac, who is also on the same record label Wee Studio Records.

The Laurettes takes to the stage in Gourock on Saturda,y November 30 with two gigs, in partnership with Inverclyde Leisure.

A family fun day to celebrate St Andrew's Day with The Laurettes and Ru Mac starts in the Gamble Hall on 2pm. It is followed by a second performance starting at 8pm.
