THE leader of Inverclyde Council is set to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday after being charged by police earlier this month.
Police Scotland previously announced that Councillor Stephen McCabe was arrested and charged earlier this month in connection with allegations of domestic assault and a breach of the peace.
He was subsequently released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
Court rolls published by the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service show that Councillor McCabe's case is due to call on November 15.
Following his arrest the Labour party announced that Councillor McCabe, who represents the Inverclyde East ward, had been suspended pending the outcome of investigations into the allegations.
