ONE of the country's best known restaurant brands is set to open a new outlet in Greenock, the Tele can reveal.

Worldwide pizza chain, Pizza Hut, will open its doors in Inverclyde. in what promises to be a boost for the local economy.

The franchise will add to the wide range of retail options at the Waterfront Retail Park in Greenock.

The restaurant is set to be a part of an extensive portfolio belonging to the Glenshire Group, a Scottish family-owned conglomerate based in Fife.

The group was established in 2020 to consolidate various existing business interests spanning multiple sectors including retail, frozen drinks, property development and Pizza Hut franchises.

And although the development is in its early stages, with an opening date still to be confirmed, the location of the restaurant has been confirmed.

The group's recruitment drive has also been launched, with applications now being sought for a general manager for the restaurant.

A Glenshire Group spokesperson said: "It's very early days for the project; however it can be confirmed that the site of the restaurant will be at Unit 5A, Waterfront Retail Park, Greenock, PA15 1EG."
