INVERCLYDE has now escaped a severe weather warning issued by the Met Office.
The national meteorological service sent out a yellow weather alert for snow and ice which originally covered Inverclyde.
The warning no longer covers the area but temperatures look set to stay firmly in single figures for the remainder of this week.
Temperatures will hit a high of 3 °C today, falling to -1 °C overnight.
From Tuesday until the end of the week, temperatures will fluctuate between highs of 3 °C and 4 °C.
The outlook for the rest of the week includes strong northerly winds, and scattered wintry showers.
