PEOPLE are being invited to have their say on the future leadership of a Port Glasgow nursery.
Inverclyde Council is seeking the public's opinion on how the Newark Nursery class should be led from the start of the 2025/26 term.
The upcoming retirement of the current head teacher is allowing the council to explore different and more efficient ways of delivering early years education in the area.
There are three options being considered, with people being encouraged to have their say via a public consultation they have launched.
This will run from Monday, November 18, until Sunday, December 8.
Councillor Jim Clocherty, Inverclyde Council’s convener of education and communities, said: "This consultation will help us understand the views of those directly affected by any changes.
"We want to make sure the new leadership model reflects the needs of the families and young people that Newark Nursery serves.
"The consultation only takes a few minutes to complete, and I encourage anyone with a vested interest in the future of Newark Nursery to have their say."
The current proposals include keeping the nursery the same with a head teacher, or turning it into a standalone early learning centre under new leadership.
The third option is incorporating it into Newark Primary School as a nursery class under the leadership of the head teacher of the primary school.
Public meetings will also be held at Newark Primary School on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
