A UEFA Under 19 international match that was set to take place at Cappielow tonight has been moved as a result of the cold snap currently gripping the west coast of Scotland.

Wales were due to lock horns with Liechtenstein in the second of two matches taking place at Cappielow during the current international break.

But it was announced on Tuesday that the match - originally scheduled for 7.45pm tonight - will instead be played at the Falkirk Stadium at 3pm.

It's the second match in the 'mini tournament' that's been moved because of the weather, with the Scotland v France under-19 clash also being relocated to the Grangemouth ground from Stirling Albion's Forthbank Stadium.

A yellow weather warning was put in place late last week, with Inverclyde residents told to brace themselves for a threat of ice and snow as a result of temperatures plunging below zero for the majority of the weekend.

Temperatures failed to rise much above zero for most of Monday and again on Tuesday.

It's understood that the game has been moved with one eye on Morton's Championship match at home to Partick Thistle this weekend - Ton's first 3pm Saturday home fixture in seven weeks.

However, there are currently no fears about the pitch at this stage.

Inverclyde football fans were able to enjoy watching Scotland's stars of the future at Cappielow on Saturday as Neil McFarlane's Scotland U19 team swept aside their Liechtenstein counterparts with goals from Southampton's on-loan Dundee United starlet Rory MacLeod and the Ayr United duo of Alfie Bavidge and Dylan Watret.
