THE team at a popular Greenock pub are flushed with success after receiving a top honour for their venue's facilities.
The James Watt in Cathcart Street has been given a platinum grading by Loo of the Year Awards judges, who made an unannounced visit to the pub.
The awards are aimed at highlighting and improving standards of 'away from home' toilet provision across the UK.
All of the toilets are graded bronze, silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus, or diamond and unacceptable toilets are not graded at all.
The facilities are judged against criteria including décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment, and overall management.
Neil Clark, manager of the James Watt, which is part of the Wetherspoon chain, said: "We are delighted with the grading.
"Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
