Morton in the Community bosses are helping to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes by offering a free health check to supporters at this Saturday's match.

Tests will be available on Sinclair Street outside Cappielow Park between 1pm and 3pm, before Ton take on Partick Thistle in the Championship.

Supporters taking the texts will receive appropriate help, should it be necessary, to fill in a short questionnaire, take their waste measurement and check their blood pressure and BMI scores.

This will help evaluate the risk posed of developing type 2 diabetes and supporters are encouraged to make the most of the opportunity.

In Scotland more than 280,000 people have been diagnosed with diabetes, the vast majority of them with the type 2 condition, with the majority of those diagnosed with type 2 being male and most of those being in men aged 60 and over.

The number of people with type 2 diabetes in Scotland has risen by more than 60,000 since 2011.
