THE team behind plans to regenerate Port Glasgow as the town’s 250th anniversary approaches are inviting local residents along to a public meeting in the town next week.
Port Glasgow 2025 (PG25) wants the public to help them “develop an inspiring future for your town” by having their say on a series of projects included in ‘local place plans’ for the area.
The public meeting will be held on the same night as the town’s Christmas lights are switched on.

“Ever said 'who asked us'? Well. this is you being asked.
“PG25 have three ideas we have developed which will be fleshed out and delivered as local place plans starting January 1.
“Speak now or forever hold yer wheesht.
“If you are “not the type that goes to public meetings”, this is for you.
“If we want things we’ve never had before, then we need to be prepared to do things we’ve never done before.”
The meeting will also include a 45-minute ‘housing forum’ before the discussion on the local place plans.
The event takes place at Port Glasgow Town Hall on Wednesday, November 27 from 6.30-8.30pm, immediately after the switching-on of the town’s Christmas lights outside Port Glasgow Library at 6pm.
