Adele Gillespie, who takes the sessions, said it gave her students a boost to sell their work.

She said: "It was really good. The group worked really hard to produce items for the market.

"It also boosted their confidence and it was lovely for them to see the value in what they do.

"We had crochet, jewellery, a group member's daughter made bookmarks and pens, and one of the local businesses, Raw Benefits, their children had set up their own enterprise selling candy and bracelets for charity."

Adele said: "Everyone had a least one sale and it's given them the confidence to do their own thing outwith the group and look for other craft markets."

Adele has been running the class for two years and also previously ran a class for people with additional support needs.

She said: "I just love crafting but it can be quite isolating. The classes give people the chance to be part of a group and work as part of a team.

"I enjoy seeing how much they all get out of it, especially when they think they can't do something and then it finally works.

Adele also welcomed an old friend along, Trishy Gannon, previously of No 26 Kempock Street.

She said: "Trishy has moved away but it was nice to have her back for the market."
