THERE were snowy scenes across Inverclyde today as Storm Bert brought strong winds, snow showers and rain to the area.
The second named storm of the UK’s winter storm season disrupted local ferry services and blanketed parts of the area with snow early this morning before wetter weather moved in later in the day.
A trio of yellow weather warnings had been issued earlier in the week by the Met Office which warned locals to expect snow, ice and high winds over the weekend.

Despite the initial stormy forecast, the worst of the weather is now likely to have passed and there is no longer a yellow warning in place for Sunday.
The current forecast for tomorrow predicts cloudy weather throughout the day, with highs of 12 degrees and lows of five.
Strong winds are still expected later in the day and there is a chance of showers in the evening.
most notably Greenock Morton’s William Hill Championship clash with Partick Thistle, which was called off after a Cappielow pitch inspection this morning.
Today’s adverse weather led to the cancellation of a number of events,Tele snapper Alex Craig was on hand at an icy Cappielow as SFA officials made the call to cancel the match.
Elsewhere, Tele camera club members shared snaps of the wintry conditions on Greenock’s Lyle Hill and in the town’s east end.
