DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a man was taken to hospital as a result of an assault and robbery in Port Glasgow yesterday afternoon.
Police were called to Montgomerie Street at 4:35pm, where a 56-year-old man reported being attacked at around 2pm before having his wallet and jewellery stolen.
He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and later released after treatment.
Officers are searching for two suspects, described as being white, aged between 20 and 30, and of slim build.

One was wearing grey clothing, with the other being dressed in black.
Detective Constable Agnieszka Telford said: “Our investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and trace the two men responsible.
“If you were in the Montgomerie Street area on Saturday afternoon and witnessed anything suspicious or relevant to this enquiry, please contact us.”
“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 2473 of 23 November.
“Alternatively, contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
