KIND hearted former footballer Craig Molloy is teaming up with Inverclyde food delivery business Clyde Eats to launch a local kit drive.

Molloy, who runs a successful one-to-one and group coaching business that takes place at Lady Octavia Leisure Centre, has teamed up with Clyde Eats to launch the 'Play it Forward' kit drive.

The new initiative will run from November 28 until December 14 in the hope of getting kids kitted out before the Christmas holidays.

A joint announcement earlier this week said: "We're thrilled to launch the Play It Forward Kit Drive – where your gently used football kits and gear can make a big difference for local kids!

"Got sports gear that’s no longer in use? Let’s put it to good use!

"Donate your gear, and you’ll help young players who need a hand with kit. Every child deserves to get on the field with confidence, and by donating, you’ll be making that possible.

"Let’s come together and play it forward for our community. Whether you're donating or helping spread the word, you’re part of something amazing.

"Together, we can create a positive ripple effect for young athletes across Inverclyde!"

Craig's coaching business has been a mainstay in Inverclyde for some time now.

His weekly sessions take place at the Battery Park during the summer, with sessions running at Notre Dame High School throughout the winter months.

Anyone looking to donate gently used kit to the drive can do so at three different locations across Greenock.

Kit can be donated at Lady Octavia on Mondays, Gibshill Community Centre on Thursdays and Notre Dame High School on Saturdays over the course of the next three weeks.

Everyone who donates will receive a Clyde Eats voucher as a thank you.
