GREENOCK Coastguard Rescue team members were involved in a multi-agency exercise on the River Clyde earlier this week.
The training exercise was designed to test multi-agency alert protocols and mobilisation in the event of a pollution incident in the area.
It was lead by Peel Ports and saw a vast number of agencies take part including the Coastguard, CalMac, Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, James Watt Dock Marina and other partners.
Speaking on Tuesday, a Greenock Coastguard spokesperson said: "This morning saw Coastguard Rescue personnel, plus Coastguard Counter Pollution personnel and partners take part in a multi-agency exercise on the Clyde.
"The event was to test and exercise multiagency alerting and mobilisation in the event of a pollution incident on the River Clyde."
