MAR Hall Golf & Spa Resort has made a series of prestigious appointments as part of its multi-million-pound redevelopment.

The new roles are set to elevate the food and beverage offering at the five-star resort, ensuring a luxurious experience for guests.

Among the new appointments is Szilard Szentesi, who joins as executive pastry chef.

The Hungarian-born chef is internationally renowned for his expertise in desserts and chocolates, and has held senior roles at luxury establishments such as Cameron House.

Szilard has also been recognised with several accolades, including the International Valrhona Cercle V challenge for the UK in 2023.

Jessica McKechnie has also joined the team as pastry chef de partie.

Having worked with Szilard for three years, she has followed in his footsteps, winning 'Dessert Chef of The Year' at the Master Chefs of Great Britain Awards.

Her innovative approach will help elevate Mar Hall's dessert and afternoon tea offerings.

Vicky Black has been appointed as director of food and beverage, bringing extensive expertise in managing high-profile food and beverage operations.

Chris Mullen has been appointed as head mixologist, and his theatre-style cocktail experiences will be a central feature across Mar Hall.

He brings a sophisticated touch to the resort's bars, with a new menu that celebrates Scotland's finest spirits, local distilleries, and rare whiskies, in addition to premium zero-alcohol options.

Janette Napier has joined as director of sales, with 35 years of experience within Scotland's hotel sector.

She is poised to attract an international clientele to the resort.

From early 2025, Mar Hall will unveil a series of transformative upgrades, including a new arrival and reception area, reimagined bar and restaurant spaces, and redesigned rooms and suites.

The resort will also introduce 30 luxurious woodland lodges, adding 48 bedrooms to the resort, and a brand-new spa with an outdoor pool.
