A POPULAR Port Glasgow pub enlisted the help of TV celebrity Darragh Ennis as it made a fantastic four-figure donation to a vital local charity.

The star of ITV’s quiz show The Chase handed over a cheque for £1,080 to Children in Poverty Inverclyde founder Pat Burke on behalf of the staff of the Caledonian Bar on Thursday night.

The cash was raised by the pub’s kind-hearted customers and will help the charity cover the costs of buying warm winter clothing for local youngsters.

Speaking after the event, Mr Burke praised the pub's staff, customers and its owner David Carroll for their fundraising efforts.
