A GREENOCK man has been charged with grabbing hold of a woman’s neck and throwing her to the ground in an alleged assault.
Steven Duncan is alleged to have attacked the complainer at an address in the town on November 16.
Prosecutors say he injured the woman in seizing her by the body and pulling her arm, before taking hold of her neck.
Duncan also faces a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by throwing her mobile phone against a wall and causing it to break, as well as kicking vehicles in the street.
He appeared on an undertaking at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to both charges through defence solicitor Gerry Keenan.
Duncan, of Lothian Road, is set to return to Greenock Sheriff Court for trial on February 3.
Sheriff James Varney released him on bail in the meantime.
