A VIGIL is taking place in a Greenock church to call for an end to violence against women.
Councillor Francesca Brennan will come together with Bishop John Keenan and Canon Tom Boyle for a multi faith service in St Mary's RC Church.
They will be joined by Inverclyde Women's Aid as part of the 16 days of activism church to reflect on the need to tackle the issue.
Councillor Brennan previously said that last year the service was so well supported, they felt it was important to take a stand again.
The 16 Days of Activism prayer service is on Sunday, December 8 at 2pm with all invited to join in and there will be refreshments afterwards.
It is part of a number of events taking place in Inverclyde to mark the campaign, which also includes empowerment walks and sessions run by Women's Aid.
