A GREENOCK woman has been announced as the annual Quarriers Christmas Card Competition winner.
Anja Davidson's painting of the Cloch Lighthouse in Gourock, featuring Santa flying overhead, was chosen as the winning design.
The artwork was created during a college art class and is now the centrepiece of Quarriers' Christmas card.
Anja said: "I feel fantastic after winning the Christmas card competition. I did the painting at college.
"It’s the first thing I’ve won. Now I’m famous."
Anja has been receiving support from Quarriers for 21 years, with the Clydeside Independent Living team assisting her with daily tasks such as paying bills and attending appointments.
Despite this support, Anja values her independence and celebrated her 50th birthday this year.
In addition to her artistic talent, Anja is also a keen knitter.
She added: "My mum taught me how to knit when I had chickenpox when I was a teenager.
"I knit while I’m watching TV, but I can’t if Corrie is on.
"When she calls for a chat, I say to my mum, I’m in the house dropping all the stitches."
Quarriers Independent Living Service provides 24-hour care for people living in their own homes, supporting them in all aspects of life and encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Anja’s Christmas cards are available to buy from Quarriers' online Christmas shop at https://www.quarriers.org.uk/get-involved/giving/christmas-shop/.
A pack of 10 cards costs £3.50, with all funds raised going towards Quarriers' work.
