YOUNGSTERS from across Inverclyde have been showing their creative side as part of a Christmas card competition organised by the area’s MP.
Martin McCluskey, MP for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West, started his Christmas card competition in September and invited all primary schools across his constituency to take part.
The winning artwork will feature on the front of the Labour politician’s festive greeting card, which will be sent to local groups and organisations, as well as national figures like King Charles, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsay Hoyle.
Mr McCluskey told the Telegraph he was pleased to have received several hundred entries and said he had his work cut out in deciding a winner.
He added: “Christmas is just around the corner! I’m thrilled to have received over 300 entries to my Christmas Card competition from children and young people in primary schools across our area.
“The standard this year has been exceptionally high and it’s going to be a tough job to decide on the winner and runners up.
“Whoever is chosen, I’m looking forward to meeting the winner and sharing some of our primary school’s best artistic talent with people across the country.”
