A CRUCIAL service in Inverclyde will find out its financial future in the Scottish Government budget today.
The Telegraph had revealed that the director at Inverclyde Women's Aid had raised fears over future funding.
Linda Harkin said that if the £195,000-a year funding which ends in March is not renewed there could be redundancies that would affect the service.
In response the Scottish Government said they were spending record levels on supporting victims of domestic abuse.
A Scottish Government spokesperson said: "The Scottish Government is working to tackle all forms of violence against women and girls including domestic abuse and ensuring that victims receive the support they need.
“Specialist third sector frontline services provide crucial support to survivors of violence against women and girls, which is why we are investing record levels of funding to support them, including through our £19million Delivering Equally Safe fund.
"We appreciate the challenging circumstances many organisations are operating in and concerns regarding funding coming to an end in March 2025."
The spokesperson said the position will be able to be confirmed alongside the Scottish budget today.
Women who need support should contact Scotland’s National Domestic Abuse & Forced Marriage Helpline on 0800 027 1234 in the first instance.
Those in immediate danger should contact 999.
