POLICE are urging the public to avoid a busy Gourock street this evening due to concerns over an 'unsafe' building.
Officers were called to Kempock Street at around 4:10pm today.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Emergency services are in attendance and Kempock Street has been closed.
"Diversions are in place and people are asked to avoid the area."
The road is currently closed westbound from the Victoria Bar, with traffic being diverted via St John's Road.
An eyewitness told the Telegraph: "It looks like there's damage to the building.
"It looked as if bits have fallen off a window."
Popular Gourock restaurant the Taj Mahal has put out a message to warn its customers about the incident.
In a post on their Facebook, the restaurant said: "Kempock Street has been closed due to the possible collapse of a dangerous building, but we are operating as usual."
