GOUROCK based ferry firm CalMac is the subject of a new fly on the wall TV documentary which begins this weekend.
The BBC Scotland programme starts this Sunday and will show through the eyes of crew and passengers how Cal Mac’s services underpin much of life in Scotland’s west coast communities.
The eight-part series goes behind the scene at Britain’s biggest ferry company over the last year.
Cal Mac operate the largest ferry fleet in Britain across 26 islands and its local routes take passengers from Gourock to Dunoon and Wemyss Bay to Rothesay.
The series will show Cal Mac boss Robbie Drummond and his management team getting to grips with an ageing fleet that requires imminent upgrading and maintenance.
Island Crossings starts on the BBC Scotland channel at 9pm on Sunday July 23.
