HOW awful for pub boss Gary McDowell and his close-knit team of hardworking staff to have their beloved business ransacked by burglars.
Not only that, but Gary was so quickly on the scene after being alerted to the incident that he was standing outside while the criminals were smashing the place up.
He and everyone at One Bruce Street have strived to provide a great food and drinks venue for Greenock and now they've had to face this.
As Gary points out, they're not part of a multi-million-pound pub chain. They are a small family-run business doing their best in difficult times.
But despite this terrible setback, which Gary admits has left him 'gutted', he has vowed to pick up the pieces and continue with his labour of love.
The hearts of Tele readers will today go out to him and his team.
We look forward to them continuing to make this business the success it deserves to be.

CONGRATULATIONS to Inverclyde Council for being in the running for a major award for its work examining historic links to slavery.
Great efforts have been made by the local authority in investigating the district's past in this regard.
The recognition given to the council for this deep dive into the history of the district is well deserved.
We wish those involved every success come the awards ceremony on September 28.
