THE campaign to Save Inchgreen Dry Dock wrote to the secretary of Inchgreen Marine Park Ltd (IMPL), Mr Farook Khan, asking if any companies had agreed to take up residence at the Inchgreen facility.
Currently IMPL are using £10.6m of taxpayers money on the facility.
We wanted to know what return the community was getting from their investment in long- term work and jobs.
No response to date!
We then wrote to Inverclyde Council chief executive Louise Long, asking to clarify the spin that she and council leader Stephen McCabe (a director of IMPL) had put on the company's control of the dry dock at the full council meeting on September 28.
No response to date!
It’s very frustrating for the campaign, whose members are taxpayers, not receiving any responses to genuine concerns.
Democracy only works when well paid elected politicians and public servants respond to their constituents and communities.
Our local politicians and civil servants seem to be ignoring these guiding obligations and principles, arrogance that knows no bounds!
