IAIN RUSSELL has been offered another year's contract at Morton as Allan Moore seeks to bolster his attacking options for next season.
Russell, 27, played under Moore at Stirling Albion while on loan from Morton last season, and scored the goals that helped them lift the Second Division title.
Now Moore hopes to coax the best out of a player who has yet to prove himself fully at Cappielow.
Moore said: "He's a confidence player. He did very well for me at Stirling and we would like him to get back playing well for Morton.
"The chairman paid £40,000 for him and it would be nice to see him get his money's worth.
"Some fans are for him and some are against him but I spoke to Peter Weatherson and I asked him who he would prefer to play up front with.
"He said Russell and felt that they had worked well when they had played together."
