ALLAN MOORE has offered Stirling Albion's Andy Graham a two-year deal and should find out today if he has beaten Hamilton Accies to the versatile defender's signature.
The Ton boss also opened talks with Stirling winger David O'Brien yesterday, who he hopes will fill the void left by Jim McAlister, who moved to New Douglas Park.
Moore told the Telegraph: "I am battling it out with Hamilton for Andy Graham. They have offered him a one-year deal but I have offered him a two-year contract and am still hoping he will come to play for me.
"I told him I would like to know by today. If he goes to Hamilton I'll wish him all the best.
"But he's a Morton fan so if he comes to us he will probably put 300 on the crowd with all his family and friends!
"He's a great guy to have in the dressing room when the chips are down. He won the player of the year award at Stirling in the last four years. It's not about money for him, it's about football and he is in a bit of turmoil over the decision." O'Brien, 26, is a favourite of Moore's and the Ton boss is confident he has the quality to make it in the First Division.
He said: "There are not many good wingers out there with a left foot. That's a position we are looking to fill after losing Jim McAlister.
"We need to get plenty of crosses in the box, particularly with Peter Weatherson in there.
"O'Brien went to the First Division before with Dundee but it never worked out for him and I think it dented his confidence. But if you get his confidence high then he is a great asset.
"Both these boys are quality players and could cope well with the First Division. I don't want Morton fans to think I'm the First Division's Gordon Strachan [buying former players from an inferior league].
"Both these guys were in the Second Division team of the year last season and Morton only narrowly avoided the playoffs, so they would have no problem making the step up."
