PORT Glasgow’s match at Newmains was postponed on Saturday.
The squad arrived at the ground, only to discover that damage to the roof of the dressing rooms at Victoria Park meant the match couldn’t be played there.
An alternative venue in Wishaw was identified by the Lanarkshire side, and although not really suitable, the sides were prepared to play on it to get the fixture completed.
But it proved to also be unsuitable, as the changing rooms had no electricity or water supply.
The Port’s team bus then had no option but to return to Inverclyde.
Manager Craig Brown said : ‘’It was disappointing to travel through there for nothing.
"But to be fair to Newmains, they did all they could to source an alternative ground, but it was not up to the standard required for junior football.’’
