MORTON boss Jim Duffy has today signed Canadian defender Luca Gasparotto on loan from Rangers until January, the Tele can exclusively reveal.
The 20-year-old centre-half comes to Cappielow with the club in desperate need of reinforcement in defence due to an injury crisis which has seen Frank McKeown and Thomas O’Ware struck down.
Gasparotto, capped by his country at Under-20 level and a member of the full national squad, has enjoyed spells out on loan at Stirling Albion and Airdrieonians in his time at Ibrox.
He spent last season with the Diamonds, starting 27 matches - four of which came against the Ton - over the course of a campaign that earned him players’ player and young player of the year awards.
Gasparotto said: “Excited to be joining Morton on loan until January! Looking forward to the first game tomorrow.”
